More Cute Kiddo Stories

We were listening to Christmas music (at Aurora's request) and we got to "Angels We Have Heard on High" sung by Josh Groban and she exclaimed, "One of the angels is singing!"

I was rocking Quinn and he was supposed to be falling asleep, but he was taking his time about it. He kept nuzzling his face into the crook of my arm, like he does when he's sleepy, but then he would turn back to me and smile. He did this several times, smiling at me each time, before I finally realized what he was doing. I asked, "Quinn, are you playing peekaboo?!" He burst into giggles and smiled a great big smile at me. I couldn't help but laugh at him which made him laugh even more.

Little eyes are always watching! Wil and I were working on dinner with Aurora playing at the table. During a lull, Wil hugged me from behind and rocked me back and forth for a minute or two, until he had to jump over to take care of whatever he was making. Before I could move on to whatever I was supposed to be doing, little arms wrapped around my knees from behind and started trying to rock me back and forth. Then Aurora exclaimed, "I yuv you, Mommy!"

Little ears are also listening! We aren't sure if this is deliberate, but often times when Wil and I kiss in front of Quinn, Quinn will make little smacking noises.

Aurora is really into pretending to bake and cook. Her Little People Noah's Ark animals are all different spices, the stuffed shapes I've been making are salt, baking powder, vanilla and those types of things, and she has specific tubs and bowls that are the flour, sugar, and baking powder. Designated spots in the living room are her sink, oven, and stove. Heaven forbid you sit in one of those places while she's hard at work! "Move, Mommy, move!"

Our little Quinn loves his diaper changes! He starts smiling and wiggling with excitement the moment we set him down on the changing pad. He smiles and giggles through the whole thing and is particularly ticklish once his new diaper is on. It makes diaper changes fun and adorable!
